Strike the Blood is getting a new OVA series! Production for it has been green-lit as Jacket band announced it on Tuesday on Gakuto Mikumo’s 15th Strike the blood light novel volume. More details are expected to be announced at a later date. The novel is currently in the last part of the Seisen arc.
Strike the Blood is a school action fantasy. It begins with Kojo Akatsuki, a boy who has been deemed the title “fourth progenitor”. Meaning he is the most powerful vampire in the world. Although it was once thought to exist in legends and lore alone, he is much more than just that. In the Itogamijima special zone for demons, a girl by the name of Yukina Himeragi (Risa Taneda) is given the task of watching over the vampire. Also hunting him down if necessary.
The Strike the Blood nover series inspired a 24-episode television anime series back in 2013. Along with two-episode OVA project last November and December, the franchise was well received by fans and viewers across the world. Discotek licensed the television anime. So they possesses the right for North American home video.
Strike the Blood light novel series is being published in North America by Yen Press. It published the 2nd volume on January 19 and is going to publish the 3rd volume on May 24. TATE has been running a manga serialization of the work in the Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine of Kadokawa starting back in 2012, and the 8th compiled book volume shipped on April 27.
