Plot: Struggling manga author Satoru Fujinuma is beset by his fear to express himself. However, he has a supernatural ability of being forced to prevent deaths and catastrophes by being sent back in time before the incident occurred, repeating time until it is prevented. This started happening after a tragic incident that happened in his childhood when a classmate of his has abducted and killed. One day, he gets involved in an incident that has him framed as the murderer of his own mother. Desperate to save the victim, he sends himself back in time only to find himself as a grade-schooler one month before fellow classmate Kayo Hinazuki went missing.
Impression: When I saw the trailer for this anime, I knew this was going to be something special and now that I have seen it, I know I was right. After seeing the 1st episode I can tell confidently that this is easily the best anime that has been released in this season! The animation looks fantastic and has a dark aura to it setting up that ominous environment perfect for a psychological thriller anime. The soundtracks are great and the main protagonist is well designed. He’s no noble hero. He’s is a normal human being who is afraid, tired of everyday life and had to sacrifice his dream in the face of reality. The storytelling is well thought out and masterfully executed. After finishing the first episode you’re going to be restless for the next one. Expecting good things from this anime. This might just be the diamond in the rough waiting to become a gem, like Subete Ga F Ni Naru in the last season!
