Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou follows High school freshman Kazunari Usa starts living on his own in Kawai Complex. Everyday he has to bear with Shirosaki the drunkard, Mayumi the pervert and the unsociable kawai who also happens to be his crush. There is also also the sly Sayaka who specializes in causing chaos. All these guys are the residents of Kawai complex and each day in Kawai complex is a roller coaster ride.
The story of Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou is very straight-forward and the most fantastic thing was how spontaneous all the elements were. Everything came naturally its not like they were trying to force comedy or romance in the story. I found it a tad bit different from the other rom/coms I have seen thus far. I am an adult now but this anime gave me the chance to feel what I felt back in my high school days. So simple yet so captivating, I really don’t have a proper adjective that would properly describe how lovely the story is. The pacing was perfect and progressed very well.
Probably the biggest highlight of Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou was the characters. Usa was a perfect portrayal of high school boy who has a crush on an unsocial girl and has no clue how to act around her. Kawai, the lead female character is basically a bookworm and unsocial. However she starts to come out of her shell being influenced by the other four weirdos of Kawai complex. Mayumi was probably the most entertaining character of the series with her perverted antics and sarcastic jokes. The character within really short time frame showed a decent amount of development, specially Usa and Mayumi. I was honestly surprised how such simple characters got me so engrossed to Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou.
Here are some notable characters from the anime:
The visuals of Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou are nothing short of stunning. Each and every facial reaction of the characters was so wonderfully portrayed. The attention to every minor details also surprised to me. The drawings are unique. Brains Base did an exceptional job animating this series, It’s a stunning piece of beauty.

The music is decent nothing spectacular I would say. This is probably the only downside of the show. I liked the opening them, “Itsuka no, Itsuka no Kimi to no Sekai” . It was sweet and soothing.
Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou is highly entertaining. Mayumi’s perverted jokes are awesome. You will also find the other characters relatable. Not to mention the chemistry of Usa and Ritsu is just too cute. I really don’t see why you won’t enjoy this show. I really loved this show to bits.
I was under the impression that Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun was the best romantic comedy of 2014. But Bokura Wa Minna Kawaisou simply blew my mind away. I honestly believe that every lover of this genre should check it out. Admit it, we all had crushes back in our high school days. This anime gives us an opportunity to relive those feelings.
