Assassination Classroom follows the students of class 3-E who have a mission: kill their teacher before graduation. He has already destroyed the moon, and has promised to destroy the Earth if he can not be killed within a year. But how can this class of misfits kill a tentacled monster, capable of reaching Mach 20 speed, who may be the best teacher any of them have ever had?
Assassination Classroom Manga possesses an extremely unique concept. A classroom where you are supposed to kill your teacher yet at the same time you try to complete your studies. I was taken aback when I saw how refreshing the story of assassination classroom is. The story developed quite smoothly. There is no pacing issues. However, the key thing is patience. Assassination Classroom has an episodic approach. Everyday something new is happening. So it is easy to forget what was the actual foundation of the story? At times it can be monotonous. But bear with it. The thing about this manga is it just carries on like the regular story and suddenly something out of the blue will happen. Those surprising elements are what prevents you from dropping this manga. Not to mention one hell of a tear jerking ending awaits you at the end of the manga.
The set up of Assassination Classroom manga is in a classroom. As a result there is a huge number of characters which include teachers, students, staffs and a whole lot more. But despite this massive set of characters some characters stand out more than the rest. For example Karma, considered to be the most intelligent of the lot and capable of coming up with unique ways of assassination. Nagisa, the underdog of the class. Karasuma sensei was probably the unsung hero of the manga and then there was bitch sensei the one who showered us with all the fan service we could ask for. However, irrespective of a refreshing plot and great set of characters the one who totally stole the limelight and was the main attraction of Assassination Classroom Manga was none other than Koro sensei, the target of the entire class who has a mysterious past and has some bad reputation as well. I personally felt assassination classroom manga did a terrific job in this department. It’s really hard to pinpoint what they did wrong here. But if I am to be too critical I would say they should have made the main antagonist a bit more detailed. Those parts were not ventured properly and you could say that probably is the only weak spot of this manga when it comes to character execution.
I personally liked the art of Assassination Classroom Manga. The backgrounds were clear and the coloring was excellent. There is not much to complain. The action scenes would get a bit messy at times but then again that is the problem with most action scenes in any manga.
Here are some art samples from the manga:
Assassination Classroom Manga is not about extremely complicated issues or highly sophisticated storyline. Nor does the manga possess a character that will be written in golden letters in the pages of history books. Then why should you read it? The answer is simple it’s just filled with entertainment. You will be awed by how many different ways they try to perform the assassination and how they use the techniques learned for assassination in different challenges of life. The chemistry between characters and the antics of bitch sensei will make you roll on the floor laughing. Assassination Classroom Manga was a truly enjoyable read!
Good manga are hard to come by. Specially in recent times. But occasionally we came across manga that leaves a massive impression on us. Assassination Classroom Manga is one of them. Apparently a light hearted manga primarily focused on entertainment this one, and yet it will teach you values, it will provide you necessary advice you will need and an ending we never saw coming. Give it a shot. This is one of Senpai’s personal favorites and he believes it’s one of the best manga of recent times.
